Ian has over 30 years of experience in all aspects of architecture and has been involved in projects of less than $1 million to over $100 million in value. In his career he has focused on 2 sectors: sports and recreation as well as industrial/transportation projects.
Sports and Recreation
He is a recognized expert in the design of sports, entertainment and recreation projects as well as accessibility. His resume includes over a dozen spectator/multipurpose facilities and over 25 community centres. Research on sport facilities includes touring numerous facilities throughout North America as well as tours of all venues at the Beijing and Vancouver Olympics/Paralympics. Ian has presented at various provincial, national and international recreation conferences.
Industrial/Transportation
Experience in this sector includes, warehouses/offices, transit & port maintenance facilities, city work's yards, power substations and pump stations. Ian has gained specialized knowledge of equipment, vehicle and pedestrian safety and noise generating activities on these projects. Experience includes addressing neighbourhood issues through public engagement meetings and a variety of planning approval processes.
